I have now started painting my little clown but I am afraid that it is coming across more creepy than cute. I have since painted the base and added rick-rack to his hat and ruffles but I still need to add the detailed print to his suit. Also, after painting it, his little jack-o-lantern will be held in his hand. Any ideas? Should I mute it with a stain?
Malinda, it looks SO cute! I can't see any creepiness at all. Seriously. I think it looks just like Mason! And the jack-o-lantern looks just like the real thing. I can't wait to see it all painted with the details. I think a light stain/wash would look nice, since it's a vintage costume, and Mason has that cute, vintage, All-American boy look. Keep up the great work, and keep posting updates! You're amazingly talented.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it doesn't look creepy at all. So cute. I'm sure it would look good with a stain on it. I'm excited to see the finished product.

ReplyDeleteI only had to see the picture to tell that your sculpture was of Mason - you have such a talent! I can't wait to see your stuff back on etsy. You were one of my inspirations to finally take the leap. I hope all is well with your little family!
Hi Malinda: Thank your for the wonderful tutorial and paperclay recipe I will try it! I love your figurines, did you use the paper clay recipe in your Mason figurine? very nice!
